Good afternoon everyone.  Here is what has been going on in class

FORENSICS

This week in forensics we have started our unit on toxicology. Students read an introductory article yesterday about toxicology and how we apply it to the legal system in forensics.  They should have turned in questions that corresponded to the article.  Today the class took notes on drug schedules and how we classify drugs according to specific criteria mandated by the federal government.  After the notes students read about different famous poisonings throughout history and how the drugs affected the body and were then discovered.  As the week continues we will learn about how a toxicologist performed his job, drug types and the affect on the body, and perform a lab using different chemicals to determine which drugs were present at the scene of a crime.

Homework

INTEGRATED SCIENCE

This week in integrated science we have started learning about the cell.  Yesterday and today we have watched videos about cell basics and organelles and taken notes on the content.  Our last note packet of the year ! As the week continues we will do several activities involving cells including a station activity in which we recognize the appearance of an organelle and identify its function and also apply cell structure & function to something more familiar in a cell analogy partner project.

Reminder - Students had a paper on organic molecules that was due Monday 6/3(yesterday)
IF YOU HAVE NOT TURNED THIS IN YOU NEED TO DO SO
I will start contacting parents about missing paper later this week as it is a major portion on your grade. Feel free to email me your paper at sobrien@plymouth.k12.ma.us
