Hello everyone. Here is what is going on in class so far this week:
FORENSICS
In forensics this week we have been analyzing blood spatter and learning about how crime scene investigators test surfaces for blood. On Monday we took notes on blood spatter and learned specific blood stain vocabulary and the parts of blood spatter. Yesterday and today we have completed blood spatter experiments by looking at how height, velocity, and angle affect blood drop shape and patterns. Tomorrow we will read an article about blood spatter and review the material from the lab. The test on the entire blood unit (basics & spatter) is planned for next Tuesday 5/21 and our final for the semester for all students is on Friday 5/24. Therefore the days in between the test and final we will review all of our units so far. Underclassmen will take the final now and then will learn about toxicology afterwards and have a culminating test on that unit in place of their semester final in June.

INTEGRATED SCIENCE
This week in integrated science we finished up our section on carbohydrates and basic carbon chemistry. On Monday we went through a review study guide for a quiz and played BINGO to review concepts. Yesterday we took a quiz on carbohydrates and then read an article about the remaining organic molecules we still need to cover. Today we watched an introductory video on lipids and took notes on this molecule. Tomorrow we will cover proteins and nucleic acids with a lab on all organic molecules on Friday.
